I can highly recommend River's Edge Veterinary Hospital for anyone needing health care for their pets. Everyone on the staff is well trained, friendly, understanding, compassionate, and courteous. When an animal needs urgent attention they do their best to work them into their schedule as quickly as possible. One of our pets is an older cat who has needed several surgeries and he has always come home in good condition and recovered quickly. Both Dr. Karla and Dr. Jones always take the time to discuss and explain their diagnosis and help with making the best health care decision for the animal they are treating, and it is evident that they both are continuing to keep up to date on the latest diseases, medicines, and treatments. In addition the facility is clean and well maintained and always pleasant to visit.
Top Notch Veterinary Hospital!! At 5p on a Friday I brought my very sick Great Dane in even though they were getting ready to close they took her right in and stayed way over to ensure she got the proper care she needed. My Dane ended up in a hospital that required 24/7 care. Dr. Karla went above and beyond, even going over to the hospital and checking her in. Then coming back the next day to care for her needs and make sure that everything was going well. Dr. Karla continued to stay in contact with me throughout the weekend with updates on my Dane. This is true COMPASSIONATE CARE!!! The love they have for all fur babies is REAL.. They understand what compassion & pain is when it comes to your babies. I highly recommend Dr. Karla & Dr. Jones & all the staff. They are truly one of a kind. We are very fortunate to have such an AMAZING vet practice in Metropolis.. Thank You
We where evacuees for Irma when my pug started to cough and choke constantly. I was panicking and hit Google for vet in the area as we where driving on 65. Thank Goodness someone answered (on a Sunday!) and said they would call the vet in. Dr. Karla came in and I knew Vinny was in good hands when she took the time to explain everything that was going on. She took charge in a very compassionate way and did everything to help get us back on the road with Vinny to Chicago. His soft pallet was collapsing in his esophagus, so she suggested surgery as soon as possible. I did not think we would be able to afford it, but ended up a surgery that would cost us $1800 - 2000 only costed $500 at her office! She had a special laser that minimized the bleeding. We jumped on it and scheduled the surgery on the way back to Florida. She and her staff were amazingly caring and loving. They followed up to check on Vinny every other day for a week to make sure he was doing OK. Dr. Karla and her staff where easy to talk to, and loved my pug as much as I do! If I lived in Metropolis she would be our vet, hands down! Just an amazing group of people....words can not express how unbelievable grateful I am, especially during such a stressful time in our lives. Good People :) Thank you for everything. woof :)
Thankful that Dr Jones makes house calls! Friendly staff when I call. Glad to have a place that will care for our potbelly pigs!!
I would recommend Rivers Edge to family and friends and do sing their praises. The family takes care of my dog and cats as if they were their own and that's why I call them family because I consider my animals family because their all I have in Metropolis.
